WordPress Admin Dashboard

The WordPress Dashboard is the first view of the administration features when logging into WordPress. The panels and menu options visible on the dashboard may be different from one website to another.

The panels and menu options you see depends on the plugins and features used on your WordPress website. Besides the plugins, the type of User Role your user account can dramatically change the menu options and the features displayed to you.

The Home section of Dashboard shown above, is using an Administrator login. There are a lot of Administrator features available, including Settings, LiteSpeed Cache, and Plugins, that are not available if you log in as a more regular user, such as an Editor, or Shop Manager if you have WooCommerce.

Notice the Dashboard view using an Editor login has less shown, and the menu availability is much shorter. Some menu have less sub-level menus as well, such as the Dashboard menu is missing the Plugins and Simple History sub-level menus in the Administrator dashboard.

If you are working on the content of your website, the two features you will like access most are Posts and Pages. These menus, highlighted above, are available to Administrators, Editors, Authors, and Contributors.
